BEGINNING COMPUTERS (Basic Beginner)
This five-week course introduces basic computer concepts,
hardware and software, and use of the mouse to navigate the simplest Windows
programs.
Prerequisites: None
INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTERS (Advanced
Beginner)
This six-week course introduces the basics of using the
computer, starting with a general overview, including Microsoft Word, file management, email, and Internet.
Prerequisites:
Beginning Computers or the equivalent experience
WORD 2007 & THE WEB (Intermediate/Advanced)
This six-week course covers 3 weeks each of Word and the Internet. The Word course reviews basic operations of Word and teaches word processing features to create, format and edit letters and documents.
The next 3 weeks focus on using the internet for everyday needs.
Prerequisites: Keyboard and mouse skills
USING THE INTERNET (Intermediate)
This six-week course teaches features of email programs, attaching files to emails, searching the Internet, posting messages to discussion groups, chat rooms and instant messaging.
Prerequisites: Introduction to Computers or the equivalent experience
EXCEL SPREADSHEET (Intermediate/Advanced)
This six-week course teaches the basics of spreadsheet concepts including creating worksheets, editing data, building charts and graphs, and publishing a spreadsheet to the Web. Uses Excel 2003.

POWERPOINT (Intermediate/Advanced)
This eight-week course teaches everything you need to know about designing persuasive PowerPoint presentations, from creating basic slide shows, to adding graphics, video, and audio for multimedia presentations. Uses Powerpoint 2003.
Prerequisites: Introduction to Computers or the equivalent experience
PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS (Intermediate)
In this six-week course you will learn to enhance and edit your photos using Photoshop Elements tools to adjust color, repair, resize, crop photos, create graphical elements, and more. No prior experience with digital imaging is required, but knowledge of Windows programs is necessary.
Prerequisites: Introduction to Computers or the equivalent experience
WINDOWS / 7 (Intermediate)
This six-week course teaches the use of Windows Explorer and the Windows system tools to maintain the personal computer. Students will learn to create, copy, move, and delete files and folders; use the recycle bin; customize the desktop; and change display properties and various settings on the personal computer.
Prerequisites: Introduction to Computers or the equivalent experience
LIFE BIO – WRITE YOUR OWN STORY (Intermediate)
This eight-week course helps develop writing skills to write your life story to be entered on LifeBio.com. Your story is stored in a file that can be accessed, expanded and edited by you indefinitely. You may add your photos to the story. This course comes with a lifetime subscription to LifeBio.com.
Prerequisites: Introduction to Computers or the equivalent experience, or permission of instructor.
VOICE RECOGNITION (Intermediate)
In this four-week course, learn to use your “voice” rather than the “mouse” to access the Internet and Word.
Prerequisites: Introduction to Computers or the equivalent experience
GENEALOGY (Intermediate)
This three-week course teaches the use of the Ancestral Quest software to build family trees. Students also explore the many Internet resources available to help them trace their family history.
Prerequisites: Introduction to Computers or the equivalent experience
